We are looking for a Lead Statisitician to join as well established Research Institute in London. This is a great opportunity to work across all areas of cardiovascular research. Ideally, you will also be an experienced line manager and team mentor and coach.
The Institute is well known for observational work and registry studies but they are also working in the research area of large biomedical databases and randomised clinical trials. They are a globally renowned research group, and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research in cardiovascular research.
About this role:
We are seeking to recruit a Lead Statistician to provide statistical and epidemiological leadership for a team studying Benefits and Risks of Atrial Fibrillation Treatments, as well as Management of Venous Thromboembolism.
The post-holder will play a key role in the planning, coordination and implementation of appropriate methods for statistical analysis. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supervising and supporting the career development of the more junior statisticians on the team. You will lead a team that includes biostatisticians, data science and medical writers, and will also collaborate with Professors and Steering committees on ongoing clinical research projects.
You will also advise on the design of new clinical studies, ensuring these are planned and implemented to the highest standards and in compliance with ICH-GCP and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
- You will hold a PhD in statistics or substantial experience in medical statistics or a closely related field.
- You will have substantial experience in applying statistical methods in biomedical research, Pharma, CRO, Academia or Healthcare industry.
- You will have experience in managing research projects and staff, and have an established international publication record.
- You will have strong experience with SAS, including data manipulation and analysis of a wide array of data sources/types.
- Working knowledge in R is desirable.
- Experience in leading research programmes, including setting the strategic direction, would also be desirable.
Key activities for this role:
In this role you will be responsible for multiple projects, providing leadership andadvising project teams by advising on statistical design, analysis, and decision-making issues.
- You will be accountable for the statistical soundness of all statistical input and deliverables for the assigned projects.
- You have the ability to work independently to achieve results with a high degree of
- accuracy and attention to detail.
- You communicate statistical methodology and results effectively to colleagues with no statistical background.
- You work as part of a cross-functional, global team.
